Le Praz is a charming and genuine Alpine village, filled with lovely traditional wooden chalets and it is set at the very foot of the glamourous Courchevel. Located at a height of 1,300 metres, it is easily accessible throughout the winter months but it still has plenty of snow to keep our ski-loving guests more than happy.
Le Praz has, so far, managed to remain untouched by the reputation that Courchevel has of being a glitzy, upmarket resort and offers a more down to earth, yet equally beautiful place for ski lovers to visit. The resort acts more as a friendly and welcoming town than a big ski resort and has a fairly big permanent population, adding to its friendly and authentic feel. As a direct result of all this, the local amenities are reasonably priced in Le Praz, in comparison to its glamorous neighbour and guests can still benefit from the proximity to the unmatchable ski area that is Les 3 Vallées
Courchevel Le Praz has an excellent snow record with all of the slopes above the resort. The Three Valleys are renowned for their piste maintenance; there are snow cannons throughout including on the route back to Courchevel Le Praz and more are being installed to enhance the natural snow and keep routes open.
The Three Valleys needs little introduction as one of the worlds biggest and best ski holiday destinations. It incorporates the resorts of Courchevel (including Courchevel Le Praz), Meribel and Val Thorens and with 200 ski lifts, 600km of pistes and 1500 snow cannons, you can be assured of quality skiing throughout the winter season.
The village of Le Praz boasts a number of fantastic local restaurants which visitors from all over Courchevel will travel down the mountain for. From traditional offers to gourmet options and Michel-star restaurants, there is something to suit every palate.
At the height of the ski season, the local tourist board tends to hold events and in particular there are a number of large fireworks displays in the village which attracts both locals and visitors from miles around. If you are lucky enough to catch one, you can enjoy watching the mountain lit up, with a delicious Vin Chaud in hand. The perfect end to a day of skiing.
